In the ever growing music scene of Maiduguri, a fresh and promising voice is beginning to capture attention, Jesse Augustine, popularly known as Ohcean Boi Born on April 16, 2004.
From a young age, music has been a defining part of his life. His journey began in Sunday school at just 8 years old, where his passion for singing and songwriting first took root. By 2017, he had already started writing his own songs, though he faced early challenges in getting them
Instead of quitting, Ohcean Boi remained dedicated to his dream. Balancing academics with creativity, he pursued a degree in Microbiology and successfully graduated in 2025. That same year marked a turning point in his music
Shortly after graduation, he released a song titled “Wani Yaro, which quickly gained attention and became a campus favorite and also in November 2025 he released a song titled “Amina”. The track opened doors for performances across different venues, helping him build a growing fan base and establish his presence in the local music scene.
