APC Chieftain Backs Nwoko’s Re-election Bid, Warns Against Internal Opposition
BY YAKARU LAWAN KACHALLAH
An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Emmanuel Eboh, has expressed support for the re-election bid of Senator Ned Nwoko, cautioning that internal opposition within the party could disrupt peace and development in Delta North Senatorial District.
Eboh, a former Delta State civil commissioner, made this known during an interview in Abuja on Wednesday, where he maintained that the senator continues to enjoy broad support across Anioma and should be allowed to concentrate on legislative duties rather than early political distractions ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said any opposition to Nwoko’s second-term ambition was unnecessary and motivated by selfish interests that do not reflect the will of the people, warning that such actions could create avoidable tension within the district.
According to him, political structures in the region should not be personalised or used as instruments of control. “Politics should not be reduced to a tool for control or family domination. It must remain focused on service and development,” he said.
Eboh also noted that Senator Nwoko has recorded notable achievements since assuming office, especially in rural road construction, electrification projects, education support, potable water provision, and empowerment programmes, which he said have strengthened his acceptance among constituents in Delta North.
“The senator has gone beyond expectations in representing his people. His focus has remained on development and legislative duties that contribute to national progress,” he added.
He further commended Nwoko’s advocacy for Anioma identity and recognition, describing it as a significant contribution to the political and cultural consciousness of the region.
Eboh insisted that the senator represents unity and stability in Delta North, urging stakeholders in areas such as Aniocha/Oshimili to avoid internal divisions that could weaken the party’s influence.
He stressed that Nwoko should not be distracted by unnecessary political contestation, adding that sustained support for him was essential for continued stability in the district.
The APC chieftain also called on constituents to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as political realignments begin to take shape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
