Nigerian Air Force bombs terrorists in Sambisa forest

By Zainab Muhammad Bashir

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said its Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI carried out a precision airstrike that eliminated several terrorists in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

It was learnt that the operation conducted on April 19, 2026, is part of ongoing efforts to sustain pressure on insurgent elements in the North-East.

According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, Ehimen Ejodame, the strike followed credible intelligence supported by Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.

He said the intelligence confirmed the presence of terrorists operating within fortified structures and bunkers in the area.

Ejodame stated that NAF air assets deployed precision munitions against the targets.

The NAF spokesperson noted that sustained air operations have continued to weaken terrorist groups in the region.

He said, “The sustained tempo of air operations continues to degrade terrorist networks, leaving the terrorists increasingly exposed and disrupted, with mounting pressure forcing them into desperate and reactive actions.”

Why do you think the terrorists still have a strong hold in Sambisa forest despite repeated military operations against them?
