Media personality Robert Ekpo, widely recognized as Roby Ekpo, has dismissed a ₦100 million settlement demand from his estranged wife, Mayowa Lambe. Labeling the financial claim as “unfounded, excessive, and premature,” Ekpo has instead signaled his intention to initiate his own legal counter-actions against her.
The friction began after Ekpo shared details regarding their marital history during an interview on the podcast The Honest Bunch. In the wake of the episode, Lambe’s legal representatives at Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation served a cease-and-desist order, insisting on a public retraction and ₦100 million in compensation for what they described as malicious and defamatory falsehoods.
Represented by TAP Legal Services, Ekpo responded in a formal letter dated April 23, 2026, which was later posted to his Instagram account. The document stated that he “categorically denies” all accusations and objects to the claim that his remarks were intended to be harmful or dishonest. His attorneys clarified that his commentary was rooted in his “personal experiences and understanding of events,” maintaining that he acted without any intent to damage Lambe’s public standing.
The legal rebuttal further criticized the aggressive timeline and monetary expectations set by Lambe’s team, calling the ₦100 million demand “inconsistent with established legal practice.” Ekpo’s lawyers argued that the situation involves a “complex interpersonal relationship” that cannot be simplified into a one-sided, misleading narrative for legal gain.
While Ekpo has flatly refused the demands, he has indicated that he will be pursuing his own claims against Lambe in due course. As neither side appears willing to back down or issue a retraction, the high-profile conflict seems destined for a courtroom trial if a private resolution is not achieved.
