A delegation from the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building.

Speaking during the visit, Professor Mele expressed appreciation to the delegation for the familiarization tour and described the visit as a positive step toward strengthening ties between the university and the quantity surveying profession.

According to information published on the University of Maiduguri’s Facebook page, the Vice-Chancellor noted that the University of Maiduguri is among the institutions with a significant number of employed quantity surveyors and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to collaborating with the institute, particularly through its Procurement Unit, in the execution of capital projects and the development of strategic plans.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Quantity Surveyor Zanna Sumayin, said the visit was aimed at fostering a stronger relationship between the university community and the quantity surveying profession.

He explained that enhanced cooperation between the two institutions would support infrastructural development, promote prudent resource utilization, and contribute to the overall growth of the university.

Sumayin further emphasized that a strategic partnership between the university and the profession would improve project delivery, ensure value for money, and encourage sustainable long-term development across the campus.
